I needed a cheap camcorder to do a video diary for a school project, it was good for that.
Although please note this doesn't come with a memory disk.
Also I would not advise to buy this product if you are not going to use it outside in day light- the lighting on this camera is extremely sensitive. It was bright light in my room but would come out extremely dark on the footage. This was really annoying.
It also eats batteries like no tomorrow!
If you're looking for a camera that you're always going to use, it's worth investing a little bit more money in one that has it's own battery you can charge up- it will reap more in the future.
Although this camera does come with very good software- and I was really impressed in the special effects I could do.
Also it must be noted that the camera does not really film more than 30 mins at a time.
